This policy assumes Amino Society is operated by a Delaware LLC and sells research-use-only materials internationally. International privacy compliance (GDPR/UK GDPR especially) requires operational steps beyond this text — signed data processing agreements with vendors, Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers, and possibly an EU/UK representative and a Data Protection Officer. Have counsel confirm before launch.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, the choices and rights available to you, and how we protect it when you visit the Website, create an account, place an order, participate in our referral program, or otherwise interact with us. By using the Website, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy.
This Policy applies to personal information of individuals worldwide, including in the United States, the United Kingdom and European Economic Area, India, the United Arab Emirates, Thailand, and other jurisdictions where we make the Website available.
Information you provide to us:
Contact and identity information — name, email address, phone number, and shipping and billing addresses.
Account information — username, password, and account preferences if you create an account.
Order information — products ordered, order history, transaction records, and related correspondence.
Payment information — billing details and payment metadata. Full card numbers and bank credentials are collected and processed directly by our PCI-compliant payment providers; we do not store full payment card numbers on our systems.
Referral and affiliate information — if you join our referral program, the data needed to administer it, including referral codes, referred-order data, payout details, and tax and identity-verification information required by our payment processor.
Communications — messages, support requests, survey responses, and other information you choose to share.
Eligibility confirmations — your confirmation that you are at least 21 years old and acquiring products for lawful research purposes, and any research-credential information you provide if requested.
Information we collect automatically:
IP address, approximate location derived from IP or shipping address, browser type, device identifiers, and operating system.
Pages viewed, links clicked, time spent on pages, referring and exit pages, and similar usage data.

We do not intentionally collect special-category or sensitive personal data, and we ask that you not submit any such data to us.

Process, fulfill, and ship your orders, and manage returns and replacements.
Take and process payment and prevent payment fraud.
Create and administer your account and our referral program.
Communicate with you about orders, account activity, support requests, and service matters.
Send marketing and promotional messages where you have consented or where otherwise permitted by law (you can opt out at any time).
Operate, secure, troubleshoot, analyze, and improve the Website and our products and services.
Verify eligibility, screen for misuse, and enforce our Terms of Service and other policies.

These providers are bound by contract to use the information only to provide services to us.

Legal, safety, and compliance — to comply with law, regulation, subpoena, court order, sanctions screening, or other legal process; to enforce our agreements; and to protect the rights, property, or safety of Amino Society, our users, or others.
Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, bankruptcy, or similar transaction; we will require that your information remain subject to protections consistent with this Policy.
We may create and use aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you for any lawful business purpose.
You may opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any marketing message, or by contacting privacy@aminosociety.org. Transactional and service messages (such as order confirmations) are not marketing and will continue.
SMS/text messaging. We do not currently send marketing or transactional text messages. If we launch SMS messaging in the future, it will be opt-in, governed by separate SMS Terms presented at sign-up, and you will be able to opt out by replying STOP. We will not share mobile opt-in data or consent with third parties for their own marketing.
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your cart and preferences, measure and analyze traffic, attribute referrals, and support security and fraud prevention. Some are strictly necessary for the Website to function; others are optional.

European Economic Area & United Kingdom (GDPR / UK GDPR). You have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and object to processing; to data portability; to withdraw consent; and to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office).
California (CCPA/CPRA). You have rights to know, access, correct, and delete personal information, and to opt out of “sale” or “sharing” and targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information for money. To exercise these rights, contact privacy@aminosociety.org. You may use an authorized agent.
Other U.S. states. Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws (including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, and others) may have rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a portable copy of personal data, and to opt out of targeted advertising, sale, or certain profiling. Contact us to exercise these rights.
India (Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023). You may have rights to access, correction, and erasure of personal data, to grievance redressal, and to nominate another person to exercise rights in certain circumstances. Contact our grievance contact at privacy@aminosociety.org.
Thailand (PDPA). You may have rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, data portability, and to withdraw consent, and to lodge a complaint with the Personal Data Protection Committee.
United Arab Emirates (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021). You may have rights to access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, and to object to certain processing, subject to applicable conditions.

The Website is intended only for individuals who are at least 21 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 21.
